Run to the rhythm of reggae at Jamaica’s iconic Reggae Marathon, where music and fitness meet.
The Reggae Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K & 5K brings together runners, walkers and fitness enthusiasts from Jamaica and around the world for an unforgettable race experience filled with music, camaraderie and Jamaican hospitality.
After more than two decades in Negril, this celebrated annual event moved to Kingston in 2025, introducing participants to a new race experience along the capital’s historic waterfront.
With reggae music energising the course, enthusiastic spectators and a festive atmosphere, the Reggae Marathon is much more than a traditional road race. It’s a celebration of Jamaican culture, community and the joy of running.
A Race for Different Fitness Levels
Participants can choose from three race distances: the Half Marathon (21.1 km), 10K and 5K.
Whether you’re an experienced distance runner hoping to achieve a personal best or a recreational participant looking for a memorable Jamaican experience, there’s an event to suit different fitness levels.
Run to the Rhythm of Reggae
Music is at the heart of the experience. Reggae performances and lively entertainment along the course help keep spirits high as participants make their way through Kingston’s streets.
The mostly flat waterfront route combines an energetic urban setting with the distinctive sights and sounds of Jamaica’s capital.
A Celebration Beyond the Finish Line
The festivities extend beyond race day, with pre-race activities, a traditional pasta party and a celebratory finish-line gathering featuring music, refreshments and awards.
Participants can look forward to commemorative medals, finisher certificates and the camaraderie that has made the Reggae Marathon a favourite among international runners.
A Proud Jamaican Sporting Tradition
First staged in 2001, the Reggae Marathon has built an international following for its organisation, warm hospitality and uniquely Jamaican atmosphere.
Among its distinctive traditions are the Bob Marley and Rita Marley trophies, awarded to the male and female winners of the Half Marathon.
The Reggae Marathon welcomes Jamaican and international participants, with online registration available for the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K.
Minimum age requirements and registration fees vary by race distance. Virtual participation may also be offered.
